2022.01.24 16:30 AppropriateMode9881 What does this dream mean?

I was with this girl, we were at my grandma's house for some reason. We were playing around on her bed. I go to touch her pussy cuz she's bottomless for some reason. She doesn't want me to go there but we keep doing what we were doing before. We eventually end up in the hallway and she has pants on now and we're just dry humping in the hallway.

2022.01.24 16:30 kiwispacemarine A Course of Action Part 74 - Riots, Occupations and Meetings

| First | Previous | Next |
The violence and uproar that erupted from the Coalition’s broadcast made the previous unrest seem like a schoolyard play-fight. Even if a Consortium citizen dismissed Kain’s message as nothing more than propaganda, the fact that the humans were able to so easily penetrate the Consortium data network spoke volumes louder than the recording.
Those that did believe the message stormed government offices, demanding explanations from their leaders about the truth of the war. They were met with violence from the authorities and those who supported the government and its policies.
The Commission of Internal Stability and Security was working overtime to try and squash protests before they could start, but the population was too riled up and too fearful of the humans to worry about their own secret police.
Even the government was split. The Assembly Hall echoed with calls for Executive-Director to explain himself and prove that the recording of him claiming the Infinite Scourge and the Golic Hegemony were the same entity was a fake. They were met with jeers and protests from the representatives in the Assembly who dismissed what the humans had said. Those aliens declared that the Executive-Director didn’t have to prove anything and to give a statement of any kind would only give credence to the enemy’s baseless accusations.
To top it all off, Rytech, in light of the fact that the humans were now within striking distance of Capital, ordered all available military forces to pull back to the governmental planet and defend it against the inevitable human attack. While a reasonably-sound military strategy, he could not have picked a worse time to do it, as the dissenters claimed that the government was abandoning the few surviving colonies and throwing them to the metaphorical wolves. While those claims were quickly silenced by the Commission, they were stretched too thin trying to maintain order amidst the chaos.
All in all, it was not a good time to be Executive-Director of the Consortium.
Consortium Starship Star’s Providence. In orbit of Capital.
Captain Zehltek was troubled. He was standing in the ship’s briefing room, staring blankly out the window, deep in thought. The source of his troubles was the video the humans had broadcast a couple of days ago. Part of him wanted to dismiss the accusations of President Kain as nothing more than enemy propaganda. But another part of him felt increasingly uncomfortable with the direction Director Rytech and his advisors had taken the Consortium in over the course of the War. That part told him that there may be more truth to the human’s statements than he cared to admit.
He was distracted from his thoughts by the door to the room sliding open with a muffled hiss.
Looking somewhat confused, Commander Quetzal walked in.
“You wanted to see me sir?” the Commander said doubtfully.
“That’s right. Have a seat,” the Captain replied, sitting down himself. When both aliens were seated and after a long pause, Zehltek began to talk.
“Commander, I’ve begun to have some doubts about our cause in this war,” he started.
“Don’t tell me you’re believing the human propaganda!” Quetzal exclaimed.
“Not so loud,” Zehltek cautioned him, “No, it’s not because of the message they broadcast earlier. Well, not entirely. It's everything that's happened ever since the humans showed up. I mean, think about it. Admiral Zartan just ordered us to attack the humans on Cur’cle, with little to no evidence. Combined with the human accusations and everything else that’s happened, I’m not sure anymore.”
“I assume you’ve felt this way for a while?” Quetzal asked. Captain Zehltek just nodded.
“This sort of solidified everything,” he said grimly. The Commander nodded.
“I suppose you’ll want to report me to the Commissar for defeatism, or treason, or something like that,” Zehltek said.
“No,” Quetzal said, “I’m not. I agree with what you say, sir, and I’ll stand with you until the end. But what do you suggest we do?”
Zehltek thought for a moment.
“I don’t know yet,” he admitted, “But we’d better make up our minds soon.”
City Hall, Capital City, Peregark. 2036 A.D.
General Henderson was sitting at the former desk of ex-governor Omuck. The head of Space Command had come in person to oversee the occupation and moving of troops to the alien world. The office had been re-decorated following the Garks’ surrender, with some of the more alien paintings being replaced by some Earth landscapes. A Coalition flag was idly hanging from a stubby flagpole behind the General.
Right now, as always, Henderson’s nose was buried in reports from field commanders regarding troop deployments. Space Command wanted five million soldiers on Peregark by the end of the week, and twenty million by the end of the month in preparation for the invasion of Capital. The details of the invasion were still being worked out, but everyone knew it was going to take a lot of manpower.
Even now, Space Command was struggling to find enough spacecraft to move the invasion force to Peregark. The General had heard stories of half-finished dropships and shuttles being dragged off the assembly lines for use in the campaign, or of civilian spacecraft such as Starships and Eagle-class freighters being roped into the operation. When he had left Earth for the alien planet, there was even talk of asking the Hegemony for a transport ship or five.
The city outside bustled with activity. Blue-helmeted U.N. Peacekeepers stood guard at intersections or patrolled the streets in their iconic white vehicles. Dropships and fighter jets periodically flew overhead and if one looked into the distance, they could just make out the continuous stream of space shuttles and other transports as they brought soldiers and supplies down to the vast staging ground outside the city. There were six of these staging areas, all as busy as the one outside the capital.
It wasn’t all bad news for the Gark people though. Civilians were still allowed to conduct their business under the watchful eye of the soldiers. Government workers who could prove they had nothing to do with some of the more unsavory acts of the Consortium were allowed to keep their positions and assist the human interim government. Human combat engineers and aid workers were steadily clearing the streets of rubble and helping those who had been wounded in the crossfire during the invasion.
Henderson looked up from the report he was reading at the sound of his computer beeping. Looking over at the device, he saw that there was an incoming transmission on the electronic teletype. Pressing the appropriate keys, he opened up the program
===PRIORITY ORDER===’, the header of the message immediately grabbed his attention, with its bold, red-coloured letters.
The General read the message as it was printed out in real time on the terminal:
SEND TIME: 1129 EST 21/11/2036
RECEIPT TIME: 1130 EST 21/11/2036
Henderson closed down the terminal and reached for the phone sitting on his desk. A long cable snaked out from behind the phone, before disappearing into a large, heavy-looking box that connected the phone’s cable to a thicker, black cable. From what Henderson understood, the cable ran all the way up to a hastily-fastened satellite dish on the room of the Hall, allowing for a make-shift phone network.
There was a second or two before he heard Colonel Whitley’s voice on the other end.
“Whitley? There are several stealth shuttles on the way. I need you to clear a place for them to land,” he instructed.
“But sir,” the officer protested, “There’s barely any room. All available landing sites are full.”
“I don’t care what you have to do. Clear a freeway if you have to. I need that landing zone cleared!”
Henderson put down the phone, sighing. This was going to be a long day.
President Kain’s Office, United Nations Building, Earth.
It was good to be back, President Kain thought as he sat at his desk, basking in the familiar sights and smells of his old office. The clean-up crews had only declared the city safe for habitation a couple of days ago, but the President had jumped at the chance to get out of that mouldy old bunker he’d been stuck in for the past few months.
He was half-certain that he would have come down with bronchitis, or something far worse had he been in there much longer.
The phone began buzzing, breaking him out of his reverie.
“Sir?” Jerry Kinser’s voice echoed over the phone, “You’re needed in the Security Council chambers.”
Annoyed that he was leaving his very comfy chair, Kain got up and walked to the door. One trip down the corridor and a short elevator ride later, he was walking into the Security Council chamber. All the heads of state were there, back in their old places. Kain almost felt a sense of homecoming as he took his place at the head of the table.
Looking at each one of them, Kain gave a small smile. It was good to be back.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” he began, “This session of the United Nations Security Council is now in session. The subject of today’s session is the planning of the invasion of Capital and the end of the War.”

2022.01.24 16:30 SnooDogs7464 Get over it already

Over seven years ago I had a best friend. We were so close. Like family. One day outta the blue she accused me of stealing from her and even filed a police report. Investigation found no cause and was closed. Decade old friendship ruined. Cue all these years later. I just found out at her latest job, she spent an entire afternoon bitching about ME to coworkers about how I stole from her. Totally embellishing the story lmao 🤦‍♀️. I found this out from another friend, like wtf. Yeah it hurt when our friendship ended but I’m over it. Been over it. Don’t think about you, I’ve moved on with my life. Am I that important to you that I’m all you can talk about all these years later? Thanks for all the free rent in your head bitch. Maybe learn not to lie and you wouldn’t obsess over shit. But now I’m all you can think about. Karma is great

2022.01.24 16:30 banjocatto If healthcare systems de-prioritize the willingly unvaccinated, should such a standard extend to other health issues that are directly brought about by a person's choices?

I recently came across a question posted here asking if those who do not want the covid vaccine would be willing to accept a card giving them access to all facilities as the vaccinated, if that card was also an attestation that they will not seek professional medical care if they become ill with COVID-19.
The comments have been locked, but to piggy back off that stance/dilemma, what would your opinion be regarding a stance in which yes, the unvaccinated should be de-prioritized, but that the obese should be de-prioritized as well. (Given they're not a child, or their condition is not a result of an underlying health issue.) Especially if they're unwilling to even bother trying to lose weight and make better lifestyle choices.
Similar to how alcoholics and smokers are often de-prioritized on transplant lists.
I know this stance tends to trigger people, but I fail to see why. We're are (rightfully) happy to hold anti-vaxxers, and even smokers accountable for their actions and lifestyle choices. However, when you apply the same set of standards to the obese, people suddenly get defensive.
"Obesity isn't contagious though." Correct, but the amount of healthcare resources that are swallowed up by obesity related illnesses is staggering.
Considering one of the most prominent arguments in favor of vaccines is that it will relieve the burden placed on healthcare systems, you would think people wouldn't get so defensive. Hell, that's literally why smokers pay so much in taxes or have higher rates of insurance.
