Girl; it’s the middle of January, you’re malnourished and don’t wear weather appropriate clothes, it’s called a cold.
any other time she’s had a tickle or cough, she’s says it’s allergies or dust..

2022.01.24 17:32 Ohigetjokes Personal victory inspired by Saitama
A few years back I was inspired by OPM and Saitama to start putting my body together.
I use that phrasing on purpose because I'd really let myself fall apart - "skinny-fat" with about 80lbs of extra fat on a frame that had absolutely no muscle. I was so weak that bringing groceries in was a huge chore, stairs would leave me out of breath, and my knees were so shot even just climbing up my porch hurt like hell.
But something about Saitama... when I read about him working through the pain, disciplining himself with the AC, really dedicating himself to the road ahead to become his best self... it moved something in me.
No wait, it's more than that. Before all that he was so bored of his life, failing at everything he tried, and I felt that man... my career was going nowhere, my body was just getting worse and worse, and every time I looked in the mirror I hated what I saw. I really hated myself, felt like I was always letting myself down.
So I decided to change.
Now I'm gonna skip ahead a LOT, but here I am years later in my mid-40s and not only am I in the best shape of my life, but I got the career thing sorted out by figuring out who I wanted to support (ie: be a hero to) and really dedicating my life to helping them. Now I love my career, the future is full of possibilities, and I've been absolutely loving going to the gym. (Never thought I'd be that guy!)
Oh, and the fat is mostly gone. Diet was the toughest thing to figure out, only recently started wrapping my head around how to eat in a way that works for my body. Saitama has super market struggles too I suppose LOL
I don't know if any of this would have happened without OPM. Maybe it would have. But over the years, whenever I forget why I'm going through all this pain, exhaustion, and struggle, I remember Saitama listlessly staring at Crablante and remember how I used to feel, and laugh because that guy... he's long gone. And then I get to work to put even more distance between me and him.
I'm also super happy that I have something impossible to work towards. Gives me lots to look forward to!

2022.01.24 17:32 DigitalWombel Family law
So I have personally been involved in a family law matter for 3 years and the system is broken.
I have experienced repeated and flagrant beaches of court orders.
Have reports written with bias demonstrated in reports.
Not appeared in court at all only via phone.
Walking away having spent $$$ in a worse situation.
There needs to be significantly more funding to address delays they need to have better trained staff writing reports and enforcement of court orders

2022.01.24 17:32 GroundbreakingHall4 Is paying for a faster operartion to avoid NHS waiting lists a good use of an emergency fund?
So, I'm a fairly active young person, and recently I got a hernia. I went to the doctor, who confirmed it was in fact a hernia, told me lay off 90% of the exercise I currently do, avoid exertion generally, and put me on the NHS waiting list for an operation to repair it (waiting times of 5-12 months).
To me, the idea of waiting up to a year to be able to return to my life as normal feels unthinkable, so I started looking into alternatives. The operation to repair the hernia itself is very simple, and could be done privately in a couple of weeks and cost me about £2,000 all in: about 20% of my emergency fund. The long waiting list is an NHS-specific problem. The hernia's not life threatening, and I definitely survive waiting on the NHS, and it would not affect the way I make a living, but I know I'd prefer not to. The main benefits of having the operation sooner would be peace of mind and ability to return 100% to my normal life faster, ability to perform my hobbies, etc.
When growing my emergency fund, I've always thought it in terms of covering expenses were I to lose my job etc., and not so much non-life-threatening medical expenses. So, I'm trying, despite being in the heat of the moment, to assess if this is worthwhile expenditure, and something my emergency fund should be covering.
So my question for you is: is this an emergency-fund problem or a discretionary spending problem?
Thanks for your help!
